August 2/3 : Manzanita Park,
Prunedale, CA
November 22/23 : VIPAWS, San Martin, CA
November
22/23, 2014
The
fourth trial of the 2014 season was held at Thorson's Arena, San Martin
CA. This was our first trial at this site and it was very
successful. We had two large arenas. One we used
for the
ring and crating. The other was open for dog exercising and
warm
up. It has an announcers booth overlooking the ring side,
which
we
used for scoring. The ring was well prepared so dust was not
an
issue the entire weekend. It was also nice being under cover
for
what turned out to be some sprinkles.
It was a very full weekend. Because we had lights
we were
able to experiment with six runs a day - 2 of each
class. Roger Coor from Phoenix, Arizona
was our
judge. He had some tough gamblers
courses, some really fast & fun jumpers courses and the regular
classes really made you think. This is
the last trial
of the year, so the Silver Buckle was completed and awarded, as well as
High in Trial. Warene Waters did a fabulous job putting
together
these awards.
Trial committee was:
Chair: Jean Danver
Grounds: Jean Danver
Awards: Warene Waters
Secretary: Dave Connet
Judge Coordination: Nicole Watts
Chief Course Builders: Corinne Steward, Scott Lovelis
Chief Ring Steward: Maralise Howze
Hospitality: Mona Nichols
Chief Scorekeepers: Marcia Hodes & Maggie Guthrie
Equipment Transportation: Jenny Hutchinson
NQ raffle: Donna Highstreet & Jenny Hutchinson
The
trial had six classes each
day. We had "NQ"
raffles on Saturday and
Sunday .
On the first regular run of the trial, Jean Danver's Aussie, Chaps,
earned his ATCH-IX and did a little celebrating.

Silver Buckle
Standings - Just possible winning dogs. All posted

Note that
all dogs with a Q are listed. Their group may change
if
they do not yet have regular Q. There may be differences in
HIT winners
because the rules of which class a dog is in differs and how yps is
calculated differs. For Silver Buckle, dogs
are in the group that corresponds to their first regular Q of the year
and yps is
the average of their regular runs for all trials.
HIT group is last regular entered of the trial and
yps is the average of the regulars for that trial only.

August 2/3,
2014
The
third trial of the 2014 season was held at Manzanita Park in Prunedale,
CA. overlooking Moss Landing and Monterey
Bay. It was
rather warm for that spot. The weather varied from the mid
60s in
the morning to high 70s when the sun came out.
PASA stuck to a one ring event format. Michael
Black from
Burleston, Texas was our judge. He brings a book of knowledge
of
the ASCA venue. He had some tough gamblers
courses, some really fast jumpers courses and the regular classes
combined it all. He also came with a great sense of
humor.
Trial committee was:
Chair: Jean Danver

Awards: Warene Waters

trial had five classes each
day. We had "NQ"

Sunday .
We got to celebrate two ATCH's.
Sue Grisby and her dog, Splash, got her ATCH-X on the very
first
jumpers run
on Saturday. Sue and Splash came all the way from the state
of
Washington so we could celebrate this event with her. Donna
&
Joel Colbert 's
dog, Kona earned his ATCH-IV on
a Saturday afternoon regular run. We were surprised to see
Donna
grab a jump bar.

March 29/30
The
second trial of the 2014 season was held at the Stanislaus County fair
Grounds in Turlock, CA. This was our annual trial held in
conjunction with Delta ASC's Conformation shows and Obedience and Rally
Trials. That allowed agility people to run all around and
participate in other events. We may of had summer in February, but late
March had to remind us that it could still be winter with the biggest
rain storm of the season. Luckily most of it happened
Saturday
night. Saturday afternoon did see some showers on the last
round
of Open and Novice regular.
PASA stuck to a one ring event format. Susan
Graham was our judge. She brings a lot of knowledge
of the
venue and clearly puts you in a mood for fun. Her gamblers
courses gave everyone something to think about for improving their
skills.

February
22/23
This
was the first
trial of the 2014 season. You would never had guessed it was February.
Cool mornings evolved into sunny 70 degree days.
Luckily, the arena
was well prepared so dust was not a problem.
PASA held a one ring event.
Trisha Stall was our judge. Her upbeat nature
definitely
contributed to everyone having a good time. Her courses were
challenging and a lot of fun. The trial was on the small side which
made for a relaxing event.
Trial committee was:
Chair: Jean Danver

trial had five classes each
