But before we go there, this trial was the first in a three week series for ASCA trials. The 2nd was a trial at the Turlock fairgrounds hosted by DELTA. There was other things going on such as rally, obedience, conformation, a raffle and some Easter events. Rick Anderson put on quite a show with his Easter bonnet as you can see in the picture below with other PASA folks. Also pictured are members having fun being winners in the raffle.

Back to our March agility trial: This was the first trial of the year at Anderson Farm in Livermore. Being an el nino year, there was rain predicted for the weekend. Rick Anderson rose to the occasion and set up a line of canopies that enabled all the participates to crate their dogs and watch the action out of the elements. The rainy weather only hit us on Saturday. It was on and off. A couple of the down pours caused a pause in the action. Sunday was a beautiful day. Our judge was Ric Pittman from San Diego area. He set up some nice courses. We got to practice turn outs in the gambles and distance work in the jumpers and some creative tunnel work. He claimed to not own rain gear so he showed off a selection of handler's extras.

The trial was held at WAG in Elk Grove. It was our first trial of the year and it rained lightly all day Saturday. And it was a bit cold with a cool breeze with temperatures in the 40s and low 50s. Lucky WAG has a covered arena with some old horse stalls on one side and crating space on the other. So, anyone who wanted shelter from the elements could get it. There were a number of first timers to a PASA trial entries. They took home lots of the HIT awards and did lots of volunteering. PASA held its usual one ring event. There were 6 classes a day, 2 of each. Susan Graham was our judge. The indoor ring was large, so handers had to do lots of running.
