2017
Agility Events
PASA had four agility
trials scheduled
in
2017:
February 24/25: Thorson's Arena, Morgan Hill, CA
April 1/2: Stanislaus County Fair Grounds, Turlock, CA
August 5/6: Manzanita Park,
Prunedale, CA
November 18/19 :Thorson's Arena, Morgan Hill, CA
November
18/19
This
was the 4th and last
trial of the 2017 season. Typically this is when we award
the
Silver Buckle awards for the season. However, ASCA decided to
ban all dogs that went to Nationals, because a couple of puppies may
have come down with parvo that could have been picked up on the
Nationals site. Since of number of the dogs that were in
contention for the Silver Buckle award were banned from coming and
others were coming
to this trial hoping to compete, PASA decided to not award
the Silver
Buckle at this trial. All the dogs who were at the trial ran
their final runs. The dogs that stayed home because of the
ASCA
ruling will have their February results count. So, stayed
tuned until February to find out the 2017 Silver Buckle
results.
The
trial was held under cover at Thorson's Arena in Morgan Hill,
CA.
We had two large arenas. So there was plenty of
room for
the ring, crating, dog exercises and a set of PASA Obedience and Rally
trials, running parallel to agility. Our
judge was Chet Katwyk. His courses had a great
range of challenges, which gave some opportunity for everyone. The
trial had five classes each
day. We had "NQ"
raffles on Saturday and
Sunday.
There
were no ATCHs. However, we did sign an ATCH pole for Rosie
Cranfield, who lost her house in the Sonoma fires, including all her
dog's awards.

August 5/6
This
was the 3rd
trial of the 2017 season. It was a typical coastal,
Manzanita
Park event. We start out with lots of dew that progresses to
sun
and just when we are enjoying the warm weather the coastal breeze cuts
in and it gets a bit cold. Of course, that is perfect for the
dogs.
PASA put up its single ring in the grass just outside the baseball
infield in the grass leaving lots of run to run around with your dog.
Sue Graham was our judge. she has a great sense of
humor
and is really helpful to the novice dogs and runners. We
always
enjoy having her and this was no exception.

Silver
Buckle
Standings
Note that
only dogs that have
a mathematic possibility of winning a Silver Bucket are listed.
In this case that is ten or less Qs from the front
runner. There may be differences in
HIT winners
because the rules of which class a dog is in differs. For
Silver
Buckle, dogs
are in the group that corresponds to their first regular Q of the year
and yps is
the average of their regular runs for the year.
HIT group is last regular entered of the trial and
average yps of regular runs just for the trial.
April 1/2
This
was the 2nd
trial of the 2017 season. The weather was
beautiful. We
had sun and temperatures that got into the low 80s. Somehow
we
lucked out with just about the only weekend with sun the entire winter.
It was held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock.
Delta ASC held conformation, rally and obedience trials at the same
time. They also had a great raffle for Aussie rescue and
canine
cancer and an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids on Sunday morning.
PASA held its usual one ring event. It was outside
on
grass with just a few gopher holes. Joyce Roessner from
Calgary,
CA was our judge. She was fun and had some really nice
courses, with a bit of challenge. We really enjoyed having her.

February
25/26
This
was the first
trial of the 2017 season. We had a break from the
rain.
Just some chilly wind in the afternoon This trial was held
inconjunction with a set
of WASOC Obedience/Rally trials. Both were
successful
events.
PASA held its usual one ring event.
That left lots of room for crating and running dogs inside and staying
away from the horses and obedience/rally folks. Sherry Butler
was
our judge. She was fun and had some really nice courses.

Congratulations to Warene Waters and her Aussie, Lark, who earned her
ATCHII

ATCHII Lark
The 2nd was a surprise to Nicole Watts when she got the title in the
mail. Dervish earned her ATCHII on
Sunday's gamble. Not to be outdone, Donna Highstreet learned
that
Rubi earned her ATCHIV in the mail as well. Congratulations to Lark,
Dervish and Rubi.
